Pay Loader Price Guide 2026: What Export Buyers Really Pay FOB China

Pay loader is the North American term for a wheel loader, and it is one of the most searched phrases by contractors comparing imported machines. Prices vary far more by configuration than by brand, so the only useful comparison is a line-by-line one.

As a rough guide for factory-direct FOB China pricing in 2026: compact 0.8 to 1.5 tonne machines sit at the bottom of the range and are popular with farms, greenhouses and small yards because they fit inside a 20 ft container. The 2 to 3 tonne class is our highest-volume export size, favoured for grain handling, feed, landscaping and light construction. From 3 to 5 tonnes you move into general construction and block plants, and from 5 to 8 tonnes into quarry, mining and port bulk handling, where axles, cooling and tyres are all upgraded.

What actually moves the price? First, the engine: Weichai and Yuchai keep costs down and parts available almost everywhere, while Cummins suits fleets standardised on it. Second, the bucket: a standard bucket, a light-material grain bucket and a rock bucket with bolt-on cutting edge are three different prices. Third, the lift arm: high-dumping and extended arms add 700 to 1,200 mm of clearance and are far cheaper fitted at the factory than retrofitted. Fourth, tyres, cab air conditioning, quick coupler, joystick control and third-party inspection all appear as separate lines.

When you compare quotations, insist that every seller lists these items. A quote that looks 10% cheaper often excludes the bucket, uses a lower-grade tyre or quotes EXW instead of FOB. Ask specifically whether the price includes loading into the container, lashing, fumigation of any wooden packing, customs declaration and the certificate package your port requires.

For used pay loaders, price should always be read together with evidence. Ask for the 126-point inspection report, a photo of the hour meter, a cold-start video and fluid analysis. A used machine without that documentation is not cheaper — it is simply unpriced risk.

Send us the tonnage, bucket type, destination port and quantity, and we return an itemised FOB and CIF quotation within 12 hours, together with real photos of the exact unit.

FAQ

How much does a pay loader cost from a China factory?

Price depends on tonnage, engine, bucket and options rather than on brand alone. Send the tonnage, bucket type and destination port and we return an itemised FOB and CIF quotation within 12 hours.

Is a pay loader the same as a wheel loader?

Yes. Pay loader, front end loader and shovel loader all describe the same wheeled machine with a front bucket.

What is included in an FOB price?

Our FOB price includes the machine as specified, the bucket, loading into the container or RoRo, lashing, fumigation of wooden packing and customs declaration at the Chinese port.

How do I avoid hidden costs when importing?

Compare quotations line by line, confirm the incoterm, and ask whether bucket, tyres, inspection and export documents are included before comparing totals.
